"To the Sea" is carved from fallen aspen wood. The hands are cast bronze. It's painted with layers of iridescent acrylic and metal leaf then finished with wax. It's part of a series called "Migration" inspired by the journeys of my ancestors and of displaced people past and present who must traverse the planet in search of a new home. Whether they travel as families, friends, parents or strangers each carries their unique culture. The series is dedicated to all those in need of safe passage.
